Crown of Beauty Magazine

Tuesday, November 18, 2014
I have mentioned before that I write for a magazine... Well, not that long ago we released our newest Issue!! I thought that I would share it with my lovely followers today so you can experience the awesomeness too!!

Here you go!! <3

I was so very excited for this issue to be released!! It was my first time to work with the different ladies, Email them, have deep conversations, and just share our hearts with each other. I have nothing but nice things to say about each of members, the ministry, and the good reads!!

The girls at the magazine, (along with my closest friends at home,) are always so encouraging about following your GOD-given dreams and hopes. When I tell them that I dream of writing a novel, they support me and tell me to get to work!! :)

We are currently discussing our next Issue & will hopefully have some news on it soon. I adore working with these ladies and cannot wait to see what else GOD is going to do with the ministry!! Check out our website, leave comments, and follow our numerous accounts on social media.

Here is the Home Page... It has all kinds of fun articles and quizzes to check out.

Let me know what you think!

Eeeepp!! Sorry, but this is my first time to be nominated for a Blog Award!! I'm kind of excited.
Thanks to Katheline at for nominatating me.

The rules are fairly simple.

1. You must make a post to show your award on your main blog.
2. You must tag the person who nominated you in your post.
3. You must nominate all of your best buddies, and those whom you want to become best buddies with, who, to your knowledge, have not been nominated for this award.
4. You must ask your buddies at least 15 questions in your post.
5. You must answer all of the questions your buddies ask you. On your post.

Okay... Well, here I go!! :)

Winter, Winter, Winter!!! I love chilly weather!!

2. Favorite candy?
Snickers. I love the amazing chocolate/caramel/peanut/cookie mixture!!

3. Travel to Australia or France?
Oooohh... Um... Austr-no-Fr-eh-mmmmm... Australia? Yes, I think Australia. Tough decision, though.

4. Favorite subject?
English/Creative Writing. I love it so much, I want to go to college for it!

5. Favorite Disney movie?
Ugh... why did you have to make me choose?? I would have to go with Tangled, though. Rapunzel & Flynn are the best!!

6. Harry Potter or Hunger Games?
Hunger Games. I've never watched or read anything Harry Potter.

7. What is your favorite book in the series you chose above?
Mockingjay would have to be my favorite book. Even though I was miserably sad after reading it, I felt like it was the best one because everything finally tied together.

8. Ice cream or cookies?
Oh, come on!! I guess cookies. I can sit down and loose track of how many cookies I have eaten and not suffer from a brain-freeze.

9. Favorite type of food?
Chinese Food is probably my favorite. I love the crazy combinations and sauces they can come up with!! And stir-fry is my favorite way to eat veggies.

10. Biology or chemistry?
I'm not a science person--at all. But I did enjoy studying Biology.

11. Chocolate or vanilla?
Not fair... If it's cake, I will always go with vanilla. And homemade vanilla icecream is to die for. So I'm going with Vanilla.

12. Dog or cat?
   Dog... Every single time.

13. Skydiving or paragliding?
Uhhh... I hate heights. But if I was held at gunpoint & forced to choose, I would take paragliding.

I have done rock-climbing before & hated it. I would zipline because... I am Dauntless!!

How To Procrastinate...The Right Way!

Saturday, November 8, 2014
Hello, I am a Writer and I like to Procrastinate!

I might as well introduce myself this way, because that's pretty much the truth right now. I signed up for NaNoWriMo with every confidence that I would write 2,000 words every day, not once have Writer's Block, feel like my writing is fabulous, AND complete everything else that must happen in life.

Needless to say, it has not.

I have had major Writer's Block from the beginning. I have put off opening up that Word File. I have opened my old notebook to read the scribbles I had made for the original story several months ago and ended up reading something else. I have found so many other things to do besides writing. I have even put off updating my little Word-Count-Thingy on the NaNo Website!!

But... I am not complaining! Things have happened this month that have prevented me from meeting my daily word-count, but at the same time, has given me memories and experience that I would not otherwise have had.

How many times do you get to lead worship at your youth group? How often do you get to see that friend who moved out-of-state 6 months ago? How many times do you get to babysit kids at your church? How often are you able to just go shopping with your mom? How much are you able to support and comfort your family during a difficult time? These are moments that you may never experience if you are only concerned with meeting a word-count.

Now, I'm not saying that NaNo is not a cool thing!! I think it is a really great program to help people with quickly getting a rough draft of their book finished. I think it's awesome to connect with other writers who have ideas and dreams just like you do. But just because it is cool does not mean I am only concerned with that one thing and nothing more.

Besides, if we don't experience anything, how can we write at all? You are supposed to "write what you know," right? If you don't live, you don't learn. If you don't learn, then you will know nothing at all.

I am still going to participate in the whole NaNo process, but it's a fact that I won't reach 50,000 by December 1st. And to be honest, that's okay! I would rather enjoy my time spent with the people I love than any amount of scribbling I could ever do in my room all alone.

Whether it is with work, school, hobbies, sports, or nearly anything else in life, make time for your loved ones. If you think about it, they are the ones who will love you down the line, not your --(fill in the blank.) Yes, it is important to you and might continue to be so in the future. But it shouldn't be so overwhelmingly important that it damages your relationships with your family, church, and friends.

Yes, the draft needs to be written. But the same can be said about your life and your relationship with GOD and others.
